One pregnant female sustained serious injuries this morning following a collision between a scooter and a passenger vehicle on Wonderers avenue in the Middelburg CBD.
The female, who is approximately seven months pregnant, was riding the scooter when it collided with the side of the passenger vehicle catapulting the lady from the scooter and onto the road.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene to find the lady in severe pain. Paramedics treated the patient for injuries to her head, suspected back and neck injuries, broken bones in both her arms as well as multiple broken bones in her right leg. She was later rapidly transported to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
None of the occupants in the passenger vehicle sustained any injuries in the collision. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
