A little girl sustained serious injuries this afternoon after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the M5 in Dunoon.
The events leading up to the incident is unclear, but the girl was struck by a Land Rover off road vehicle. Various Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene to find the girl in a serious condition. Due to the injuries sustained and the distance to the nearest appropriate medical facility the AER24 helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
The patient then received Advanced Life Support treatment at the scene before being airlifted to the Red Cross Children’s hospital for further medical attention.
Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
