A Nineteen-year-old male sustained serious injury after his vehicle rolled along President Paul Kruger Street, Bloemfontein, this afternoon. Reports from the scene indicate that the driver lost control while rounding a bend and collided with a lamp pole before the vehicle rolled.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found the seriously injured man still trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle. While firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the man, medics had to clamber into the vehicle to stabilize him.
After he was extricated and deftly immobilized on a trauma board, they transported him to a nearby hospital for the care that he required.
