Car crashes on top of man while he was working underneath it

[Meredale, GP 08 November 2012 10:00]

A man in his 40’s has been badly injured after a car fell on top of him while he was working underneath it.

For some reason, while the man was underneath the car, it crashed down on top of him, and luckily workers rushed to his aid when they heard what had happened. Four of them managed to pull the car off of the injured man, and they then rushed through to the Johannesburg South branch on Colombine avenue where they called for the help of paramedics. When they arrived on scene on Lark street in Meredale, they found the injured man on the floor and he had sustained severe injuries to his head and chest. He was alert and talking but he would require urgent further care in hospital.

Paramedics stopped his bleeding and treated his injuries en route to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. A short while later he was in the care of Trauma staff in hospital.

If not for the construction workers who were nearby that came to the aid of the injured man and called paramedics, the patients condition may have been a lot worse.
