Driver entrapped after two trucks collide at N3/N12 split

At around 3.30pm on Tuesday afternoon November 20, 2012 two trucks were involved in an accident on the N3 / N12 split heading south bound near the Elands interchange. EMER-G-MED attended to the scene and checked the drivers for injuries.

It is alleged that one of the trucks was towing another vehicle when it collided with stationery truck in the slow lane of the N12 exit. One of the drivers sustained a lower limb entrapment. The Fire Department were on scene and extricated him from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.

He also sustained multiple abrasions and was complaining of chest and leg pain, he was transported to hospital by EMER-G-MED. The driver of the other truck was fortunately uninjured in the collision.

F01, L01, M01, M04 and A10 were one scene.
