As the festive season approaches authorities will be emphasizing the importance of road safety and ER24 will be ever present and active in spreading the message.
ER24 and Mediclinic Cape Gate are having an awareness event on Saturday the 10th of November to promote road safety for this coming season. The event will take the form of a “Heli rescue demo” and will incorporate various aspects of what Emergency Medical Services can offer to the public on a daily basis.
Members of the public are invited to the Mediclinic Cape Gate hospital grounds where the scenario of a motor vehicle collision will be staged. Various services including ER24, local rescue and law enforcement services will then put on a demonstration as to what is done in the event of such an emergency.
The AER24 helicopter will then land at the event and the patient will be airlifted to the hospitals emergency unit. During the demonstration spectators will be able to hear continuous feedback of what is being done in the staging area.
After the event the various emergency vehicles including the AER24 helicopter will be put on display for old and young to observe. A lucky draw will be held and exiting prizes will be up for grabs. ER24 and Mediclinic Cape Gate would like to invite everyone, of all ages, to the event to see the AER24 helicopter as well as the various other services in action.
