A serious crash involving three cars occurred on the N3 in peak traffic flow this morning, just before the Rand Airport road off-ramp, reports Ashley Treurnich of the Matrix Road Safety Association.
“One vehicle apparently tried to overtake another, when it appears that it collided with the vehicle”, said Treurnich. A third vehicle crashed into the scene and paramedics from EMER-G-MED attended to the injured who sustained moderate injuries. They and then taken to hospital by ambulance after being treated at the scene of the accident.
Treurnich urged motorists to be aware of other vehicles around them, especially when overtaking or braking. ‘We sincerely hope that all motorists will comply with basic road rules this festive season, so that the high death toll on our roads can be reduced significantly’, he added.
