Nine injured after taxi overturns in Merewent

Nine people sustained injuries this morning after a minibus taxi rolled on Himalaya road in Merewent.

The cause of the collision is unclear, but the minibus taxi had allegedly veered out of control before overturning onto its right side. As the vehicle overturned some of the occupants were ejected from the minibus taxi.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene to find a total of nine occupants, six male and three female, to be in need of medical attention. The patients had all sustained injuries ranging from suspected back and neck injuries, various cuts and bruises to one man who had a suspected broken shoulder.

Various ambulances services treated and transported the patients from the scene to nearby medical facilities. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the cause of the collision further.
