[ROODEPOORT, GP – 09 NOVEMBER 2012 AT 20H00]
One man has been killed and another man is in a critical condition after the bakkie they were in rolled numerous times on Main Road in Newlands and allegedly ejected both occupants from the vehicle this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie on its side with both occupants outside of the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the one patient had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene. The other patient in his thirties was in a critical condition. He had a suspected head injury and suspected broken bones. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
