Crisis Medical paramedics responded to reports of an accident on the corner of North Coast Road & Church Road at 17:00 today.
On arrival, paramedics found a 30 year old male lying in the road after being struck by a vehicle. The seriously injured man had sustained suspected head injuries and was fully immobilised before being rushed to a local hospital for further medical care.
From on scene reports, it is believed the man tried to cross North Coast Road and failed to see the on-coming vehicle leading to the accident.
The driver of the vehicle was unhurt in the incident and received trauma counselling.
SAPS will be investigating the incident.
