Saturday night mayhem on the roads

At around 19.30pm on Saturday Night November 10, 2012 EMER-G-MED was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Olivenhoutsbosch Road, outside the Woolworths Distribution Centre, where a articulated truck and a minibus taxi collided.

On arrival multiple patients were found entrapped and critically injured. Additional resources were sent to the scene and EMER-G-MED’s RV1, RV3, RV4, F01,V01, A04 and A08 along with Centurion Fire and other services were on scene.

Two critically injured patients were airlifted to hospital along with five seriously injured patients who were transported to hospital by ambulance. The remaining 11 patients also transported by ambulance were all in a stable condition.

“All services worked hand in hand and a big thank you to Centurion Fire for assisting us with getting the entrapped patients out the vehicle. Unfortunately one of the patients was fatally injured on impact”, said Wayne Grindell of EMER-G-MED.
