Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to reports of a multi vehicle accident on the corner of Broadway and Kensington Drive in Durban North this morning.
On arrival, paramedics found an injured elderly lady in one of the vehicles complaining of neck and chest pains. Paramedics set about stabilising and immobilising the patient before transporting her to St. Augustines Hospital for further treatment.
From on scene reports, it is believed that the injured female collided with a vehicle in the intersection and accidentally put her foot on the accelerator causing her to crash into a further two parked vehicles on the side of the road before coming to a stop.
Fortunately the parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the accident however it took about an hour to locate the owner of one of the vehicles due to him shopping in the nearby centre.
