Pedestrians In Critical Condition After Pinetown Collision

[PINETOWN, KZN – 14 DECEMBER 2012]

Two pedestrians have been knocked down and are in a critical condition and seven other occupants from a bakkie have sustained serious injuries after the bakkie they were in lost control on Crompton Street and crashed into a wall this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie up against the wall and patients strew across the verge and road. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the one patient, a pedestrian was in a critical condition after sustaining a head injury and traumatic injuries to left leg. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient. The remaining eight patients were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and multiple cuts and abrasions. All patients were treated and transported to Hillcrest Private and R K Khans Hospital for further medical care.

The circumstances around the accident will be investigated by the local authorities.
