A Toyota Venture carrying ten people has lost control on the N3 near Bulgowan and rolled numerous times before it came to a halt on the freeway this morning.
ER24 paramedics from Pietermaritzburg and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the passengers strewn across the freeway believed to have been ejected when the vehicle rolled. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two people had sustained very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene. The eight remaining patients were treated for suspected neck and back injuries, multiple cuts and abrasions and suspected broken bones. They were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further. Traffic was affected due to the accident.
