Two young men killed in Brakpan

[Brakpan, GP 04 December 2012 04:00]

Around 4am this morning, paramedics were called out to assist at the scene of an accident that had taken place on the R23 Heidelberg Road in the vicinity of Withok Estate in Brakpan.

When they arrived at the scene, they found that a white Mini Cooper had collided into a tree. The impact had left the vehicle badly crushed, and the two young men were found trapped in their seats. The vehicle some how appeared to have rolled into the tree, where the roof and sides of the vehicle were extensively damaged.

Sadly there had been nothing more that paramedics could do to save their lives, both men believed to be in their 20’s, had died on scene. They were declared dead a short while later, and the Fire and Rescue services needed to use the Jaws of Life to remove their remains from the wreckage.

It is not yet clear as to what took place to cause the driver of the vehicle to lose control and crash into the tree. Local police authorities who attended the scene will investigate.
