Crisis Medical paramedics responded to reports of an accident on Ridge Road, La Lucia at 17:45 today.
On arrival, paramedics found the crumpled remains of a white VW Jetta next to a bus. It was found that the female driver of the sedan has been seriously injured. Paramedics immediately set about stabilizing the woman and fully immobilising her to prevent further injury. She was then transported to hospital by Crisis Medical ambulance for further medical care.
At this stage it is unknown what caused the head on collision between the sedan and bus but it is suggested an errant driver left their lane causing the accident.
Law enforcement authorities were on hand to investigate the incident.
