Fourteen people have sustained various injuries after a bakkie travelling along Kassier Road heading towards Hillcrest Old Main Road collided into the back of the taxi this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the two vehicles in the left hand lane of Kassier Road with extensive damage to both vehicles. The commuters from the taxi were found seated on the Armco barrier next to the taxi.
The passengers were assessed on the scene and found that four had suspected neck and back injuries and the remaining ten had sustained minor cuts and abrasions. All patients were stabilised on scene and transported to various provincial hospitals in the area for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
