Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident scene in Krugersdorp this morning involving a light delivery vehicle and a cyclist.
Exact details of the cause of the accident are unclear and remain subject to a police investigation.
It appears that the cyclist was hit by the light delivery vehicle, instantaneously killing the man. The light delivery vehicle overturned, resulting in three of the occupants dying before the paramedics’ arrival, two men were critically injured and another man was seriously injured during the accident.
One of the critically injured men was airlifted by the Netcare 1 helicopter to a nearby medical facility for the urgent lifesaving medical care that they required.
The rest of the injured were treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to nearby medical facilities for further medical care.
