A pedestrian believed to be in his early thirties has been killed after being knocked down by a light motor vehicle on the N2 north bound just after the Umgeni off ramp this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the light motor vehicle in the middle of the N2 with the pedestrian a few meters away behind the car. Paramedics assessed the patient and found he had suffered very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene. The front passenger of the car was treated for minor injuries and taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further. There was damage to the front and back windscreen of the car. Traffic was affected while the investigation takes place.
