A female has died and three others sustained serious injuries after their vehicle slammed into a tree on the M41 in Umhlanga this morning. Reports indicate that a B M W and a V W Polo collided at around 04h00, the V W then veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the female front passenger trapped in the wreckage in a critical condition, the other patients were found at the side of the road. After she was extricated paramedics transported her to a local hospital for the care that she required, tragically she died soon after arriving at the hospital.
The other patients were stabelised on scene and then transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.
