Head On Collision On N2 Leaves One In Critical Condition

A head on collision on the N2 north bound near the Joyner Road off ramp involving two light motor vehicles has left one person in a critical condition and three other with serious injuries this afternoon.

ER24 and other emergency personal from various services arrived on the scene and found the two light motor vehicles near to each other with extensive damage to both. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one passenger; a female was in a critical condition. The patient had sustained multiple broken bones to her legs and arms and suspected chest and internal injuries. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient before she was airlifted by the Department of Health Air Mercy Medicopter to Life Entabeni Hospital for rapid medical care.

The two drivers and another passenger had suspected neck and back injuries and multiple cuts and abrasions. They were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.

The circumstances around the accident would be investigate by the local authorities.
