Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident scene on Cypress Road in Honeydew this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that ten people were injured after a delivery vehicle lost control. The delivery vehicle was transporting about fifteen people on the back of the vehicle when the accident took place.
One person sustained critical injuries and after receiving treatment on scene, he was transported to the Netcare Milpark Hospital. Four people sustained serious injuries and five people sustained moderate injuries.
After the injured were treated and stabilised on scene, they were transported to local hospitals in the area for the medical care that they required.
Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
