Four people were injured, one seriously so, after a bakkie and a taxi collided on the M4 near La Mercy this afternoon at 16h00. Reports indicate that the bakkie and a taxi were both traveling on the North bound lane when they collided. The taxi then spun out and landed in the south bound lane.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a rear passenger from the bakkie had been ejected on impact and was found lying on the road with serious injuries. The three people from the taxi escaped with minor injuries and were found at the side of the road.
Medics stabelised the injured on scene and then transported them to a local government hospital for the care that they required.
