Municipal Refuse Truck and Car Collide Injuring 1

Crisis Medical paramedics responded to an accident on the N2 South bound before Queen Nandi Drive at 10:45 this morning.

First on scene, Crisis Medical established that a single person in a small hatch back had been injured. The injured man was fully immobilised and stabilised on scene before being transported by Crisis Medical ambulance to a local hospital for further medical treatment.

From on scene reports, it is suggested that the car cut in front of an eThekwini Municipal refuse truck causing the truck to rear end the car resulting in the vehicle coming to a rest on the side of the road. The collision resulted in refuse being strewn across the busy freeway. Paramedics requested assistance from Metro Police to assist in traffic flow in order to avoid a secondary collision.
