Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Being Knocked Down

A pedestrian believed to be in his thirties is in a critical condition after being knocked down by a light motor vehicle on the M13 Fields Hill Durban bound near to the Richmond Road on ramp late yesterday evening.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the road with the car just a few meters away. Paramedics assessed the patient and found he had a suspected head injury and multiple broken bones. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient to help stabilise the patient further. The patient was also intubated and placed on a ventilator to help him breath. Once stabilised, the patient was transported to R K Khans Hospital for further medical care.

The driver of the car was unharmed in the incident. There was extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.
