Pedestrian Injured On Umgeni Road

Crisis Medical paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident at the corner of Umgeni Road and St. Mathias Road at 08:00 this morning.

First on scene, paramedics assessed a man who was lying in the road way. It was established that he was suffering from a possible hip fracture and broken leg. Paramedics stabilised the man before transporting him to a local hospital for further medical care.

At this stage it is unknown what caused the man to be knocked over but from on scene reports it is suggested he was attempting to cross the busy road where he was unsighted by a motorist resulting in the collision.

Local law enforcement were on scene to investigate.
