A woman believed to be in her late fifties to early sixties has died after sustaining critical injuries when she was knocked down by a taxi on Old Main Road in Hillcrest this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the woman lying in the middle of the road with the taxi a few meters up the road. Paramedics assessed the patient and found the woman had sustained a head injury and possible internal injuries. CPR and Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient to help save her. Unfortunately the patient passed away on scene due to the injuries she had sustained in the incident.
It is believed that the woman was crossing Old Main Road when she was struck by the taxi and went underneath it. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further.
