Twenty five people have been reported injured and are being treated for minor to serious injuries after the delivery truck they were in overturned at the intersection of Leighton and Rustenburg Road in Victory Park north of Johannesburg this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the vehicle lying on its side with all the passengers found seated on the floor or walking around. Paramedics assessed the patients and treated them for various injuries ranging from minor cuts and abrasions to suspected neck and back injuries. All patients were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
It is believed that the driver lost control of the truck due to some sort of mechanical difficulties, which caused him to overturn the vehicle. The road was closed due to the accident. All necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
