Diesel Electric (Rand), the wholesale distributor of automotive components to retailers, fitment centres, automotive workshops, spares shops and major fleets, has announced the winner of a national Gabriel shock absorber promotion.

The winner, Bailey van Breda from Supa Quick Strydom Park, received an all-expenses paid trip for two people for seven nights in Mauritius. Mark Muller, the Gabriel sales representative at Diesel-Electric (Rand), was kind enough to share his trip with the runner-up, which resulted in Keegan Ward from Speedy Randburg being a recipient of an all-expenses paid trip as well.

The competition ran from 1 July to 31 December 2012 and was based on the highest percentage of over-achiever shock absorber purchases compared to the same period in 2011. In total, 40 winners were announced nationally.

Fred Bengsch, a director of Diesel-Electric (Rand), said that it is a remarkable achievement for both fitment centres, which reflects their support to Gabriel and Diesel Electric (Rand).
Sean Staley, Control Instruments-Automotive Divisional Head – Ride Control, said that by working with their wholesaler partners in creating promotions of this nature emphasises the importance of shock absorbers and brings top-of-mind awareness at the retail level; a foundation of our current SafeZone 2.6 Programme.

“Supa Quick Strydom Park and Speedy Randburg were among the first fitment centres nationally to adopt this SafeZone 2.6 approach, so this testimony that Gabriel’s new focus towards educating the consumers at counter level has worked and in turn increases the turnover for the outlet.”
