Netcare 911 paramedics, its rescue unit and other services responded to an accident on the N3 close to the Pavilion in Durban this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a minibus had overturned resulting in fourteen people sustaining injuries. Six people were seriously injured, seven sustained moderate injuries and one person sustained minor injuries.
Thirteen patients were treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further medical care. The fourteenth patient did not require hospitalisation.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
