Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the Vermaasdrift Road between Stilfontein and Klerksdorp last night after 23h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle had left the roadway, uprooted a tree and came to a standstill against another tree.
The driver of the vehicle was tragically declared dead at the scene after paramedics found that the man died prior to their arrival.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
