Two adults and a child have been killed, a four month old baby is in a critical condition and six other passengers have sustained moderate injuries after the light motor vehicle they were in rolled numerous times on the R64 about 40km outside of Bloemfontein this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics along with other emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the vehicle off to the side of the road with extensive damage to the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were found strewn across the road and near to the accident.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that nine occupants were in the car, of which four were adults, four children and one baby. Unfortunately one child and two adults had already succumbed to their injuries and were declared deceased on scene. A baby was in a critical condition after sustaining a head injury. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient.

Two adults and three children were treated for minor to moderate injuries. They were stabilised on scene and transported to a hospital in Bloemfontein for further medical care.

The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
