15 Injured In Taxi Accident In Richmond

Four people have sustained serious injuries and eleven other commuters have sustained minor injuries after a taxi lost control and collided with a truck on Shepstone Road in Richmond this afternoon:

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the taxi off to the side of the road with the side of the taxi ripped open and all the commuters were found strewn all around the accident scene.

Paramedics assessed the fifteen commuters and found that four patients, two men and two had serious injuries. They were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and multiple cuts and abrasions. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient to help stabilise them further. The remaining eleven patients were treated for general body pains and minor abrasions. All patients were treated on scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.

It is believed that the taxi driver lost control and collided into the side of the truck, which ripped open the taxi before it rolled. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
