Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident in Cosmos City in Johannesburg late this afternoon.
Upon their arrival they found that a two-year-old boy was critically injured after he was knocked over by a motor vehicle.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured boy to a nearby hospital for the urgent medical care. Sadly the young boy passed away in hospital due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
Exact details to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
