Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident at the intersection of Rinaldo Road and North Coast Road in Durban North this morning before 08h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a minibus and a light delivery vehicle collided.
Seventeen people sustained moderate to serious injuries. After they were treated on scene, they were transported to various hospitals in the area.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
