Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N3 near Harrismith this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle had overturned. Reports from the scene indicate that the motor vehicle slipped on the wet road and overturned.
One person was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital after receiving treatment on scene.
Exact details to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
