A Land Rover rear-ended a truck carrying gas on the N14 in Petroport, in the direction of Krugersdorp, this morning April 17, 2013 at around 11.46am, causing the vault door to open emitting hazardous material across the road.
Joburg Fire and HAZMAT have been request to attend the scene and clear up the gas cylinders, some of which have been damaged.
EMER-G-MED paramedics were on scene to assist with the injured patients, the driver of the Land Rover – well known Afrikaans singer Arno Jordaan – sustained neck and facial injuries and the driver of the truck sustained a head injury. They were both transported to hospital by other Emergency Services.
Only one lane is now open causing a delay in traffic.
