Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N1 just past the Grasmere Tollgate at Vereeniging this morning just before 02h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a minibus had overturned. Eighteen people were injured during the accident.
After all the injured were treated and stabilised on scene, they were transported to nearby hospitals for the medical care that they required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
