Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident scene on the R25 near Bronkhorstspruit late last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two motor vehicles collided head-on and that a third motor vehicle crashed into the two vehicles.
One person tragically died, one person was entrapped in the vehicle and sustained critically injured, one person sustained serious injuries.
The critically injured man was airlifted to a nearby hospital with the Netcare1 helicopter for the urgent medical care that he required
The other person was treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for the medical care required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
