Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the R554 in Vaal Marina in Gauteng this afternoon. The motor vehicle was travelling from Villiers towards Vereeniging.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle with seven occupants overturned. There were four adults and three children in the motor vehicle.
Two adults and two children tragically lost their lives and two people were seriously injured while another person sustained moderate injuries.
The injured were treated on scene before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Exact details to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
