Taxi accident leaves 16 injured

Rescue Care paramedics were called to the M4 Durban bound before Quality Street offramp just before 1pm today for a serious collision.

On arrival paramedics found that a fully loaded taxi with passengers had lost control and rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof. Paramedics quickly assessed the injured and found that sixteen people had sustained various injuries. More ambulances were called to assist with transporting the injured to hospitals. Once all the patients were stabilized they were transported to various Durban hospitals for further care.

It is unclear what caused the vehicle to roll however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
