Taxi accident leaves ten injured on N3

Just before 5pm tonight Rescue Care paramedics were called to the N3 Pinetown Bound before pavilion for a multiple car pile up.

On arrival paramedics found vehicles strewn across the freeway badly damaged. Three cars and a taxi had collided on the Pinetown bound carriageway blocking the fast lane and two left hand lanes. Paramedics found that a total of ten people had sustained various injuries and paramedics called for more resources to assist with the multiple casualty scene. All the injured were then stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals for further care.

It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected up to Sherwood offramp whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
