A truck driver has sustained serious injuries after losing control of his vehicle on the N3 Pietermaritzburg bound near to the Peter Brown On Ramp in the early hours of this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the truck down an embankment with logs scattered every where. The driver was found outside the vehicle believed to have been ejected.
Paramedics assessed him and found he had a suspected neck and back injury and multiple cuts and abrasions. The patient was stabilised further and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The freeway is still closed to traffic while recovery of the truck is taking place.
