This morning April 22, 2013 at around 10am a stationary truck was rear-ended by another truck on the N12 West in Jet Park. EMER-G-MED paramedics arrived to find the passenger of the truck in a critical condition. He was trapped in the truck; it took about an hour and 15 minutes to fee him from the wreckage.
“He had sustained head and chest injuries as well as multiple fractures. He was airlifted to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital for further medical treatment”, said Derek Ramsay of EMER-G-MED. Sadly the truck driver was declared dead on scene due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the stationary truck was not injured in this accident.
EMER-G-MED’s A09, RV04 and M04 were on scene.
