1 Person Seriously Injured In N2 Roll Over

Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to reports of a vehicle that had overturned on the N2 south bound before the Umgeni Road exit at 06:45 this morning.

First to arrive on scene, paramedics found a vehicle lying on it’s roof in the centre island of the busy motorway. Paramedics checked the vehicle and found a single occupant who was stuck in the overturned vehicle. With the assistance of the Ethekwini Fire Department, the driver was carefully placed on a spine board before being removed from the vehicle. The injured man was then treated for suspected head and spine injuries before being taken to Ethekwini Hospital in a serious but stable condition by Crisis Medical ambulance.

On scene reports suggest a bakkie had suddenly braked without warning causing the driver following the bakkie to take evasive action resulting in the car overturning.

Morning traffic was severely affected while emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
