Biker seriously injured after head on collision

Rescue Care paramedics were called out to Bayhead Road just before Iran Road just after 2pm today for a head on collision.

On arrival paramedics found that a motor bike and a car had collided head on. The motorcyclist was found laying in the roadway in severe pain after sustaining serious injuries. Paramedics immediately set about stabilizing the injured biker. Advanced life support intervention was needed to assist the injured cyclist. Once the patient was stabilized he was transported by Rescue Care to a local Durban hospital for the further care that he required. A passenger from the vehicle had also sustained slight injuries and was also transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.
