A twelve-year-old girl is in a critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle that came hurling down Ridley Park Road, Malvern, this morning at around 09h00. Reports from the scene indicate that the child was escorted to church when she was hit by the vehicle.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the patients lying on the roadway. After they stabelised the girl and skillfully immobilized her on a trauma board, medics transported her to the R K Khan hospital for the care that they required.
