Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N1 south bound close to the Atterbury turn-off this morning at around 08h30.
Upon their arrival on scene they found two vehicle and one heavy goods vehicle collided.
A woman in her twenties sustained serious injuries and after receiving treated on scene, she was transported to a nearby Netcare facility for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
