Pedestrian critically injured after being knocked down on the N3

Just before 7am this morning, witnesses saw a man in his late 20’s attempt to run across the Durban bound carriage way of the N3 highway in the vicinity of Brickfield road. As he was running a taxi that was travelling along the road collided into him and he was knocked to the ground.

Upon arrival of paramedics, their initial assessments revealed that he had sustained extensive and severe injuries and they quickly began to stabilise him.

The man was transported to King Edwards hospital for further care and handed over to trauma staff in a serious condition.

No one in the taxi was injured in the incident.
