Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident at the corners of Florence Ribeiro Avenue and Main Street in Pretoria this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle and heavy goods vehicle collided. The motor vehicle came to a rest between a lamp post and the heavy goods vehicle.
Sadly the two female occupants of the motor vehicle both lost their lives during the accident and there was nothing that paramedics could do to save them.
Exact detail to the cause of the incident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
